I enjoy crafting- stamping, sewing, embroidery and jewelry making! I am a Stampin' Up demonstrator and I love sharing what I love! I blog about my favorite stamp sets & techniques. I have an online store at http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx
I have an Etsy shop online (link is here). All prices reflect material used and time spent constructing. You may notice that one card may cost more than another- likely because one had more materials put into it than the other.
Ever since Mother's Day, I've been compelled to craft but have not had the time. I had so many appointments to go to. Some coupons were expiring and we have to go this week end. The little chores have blown into things we forgot to do last week end and take much longer. I've realized that since my back problem, I haven't had as much energy as I normally do. Sitting in a chair is no longer comfortable. I must move, stretch and try to mind my posture. It's so easy to forget about posture when I want to cut as much card stock as possible to save time later.
Yesterday, I had a wonderful day to craft. My husband and I put off a to - do list and had a relaxing stay at home day. I re - arranged my schedule so that there would not be three hours of doctor and physical therapy appointments. We didn't even want to deal with the bustle of people at Costco. Instead, I wandered around my craft room when I felt like it and it was very liberating! I keep having thoughts that I won't have the luxury of a free day all of the time, but it was very freeing.
I tried some new techniques that I like - and I finally tried the artisan punch that I had bought ages ago. I copied some things off of the internet and then seemed to find my own inspiration. I always have a bit of anxiety when I am designing one card for a specific event, like Mother's Day. I spent hours checking web sites, browsing extensive photo files and cutting and then scraping card ideas. Once I decided that I can make as many as I wanted, I found that I wasn't so worried that it wasn't 'special enough' or that the color scheme that I preferred would not be appreciated by the recipient.
Have you ever felt like you didn't have enough time to craft?
I am getting my etsy card shop fully stocked. I can't believe that I once had 100 listings in this shop. I can barely get 40 cards now! I miss being part time https://www.etsy.com/shop/Serynanne I can't decide if I should work on more baby congratulations or wedding cards. What do you think?
I found this on stampinup.com: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/67694800623633237/
I found an interesting scrapbookinng while on the go idea. You tape envelopes together with Washi tape and slip in journal cards, photographs and add cute embellishments. I'm thinking of making one of these for my mom with some memories of the last couple years!
I am so happy that my husband is helping me organize my craft room! We've measured our space for better storage options. I've cleared out the old storage drawers and found tools that I had forgotten about! Here are some things that I made yesterday.
I'm working with trying new framelets and layering options. I love using stampin' dimensionals!
I hope that this finds you well. I had a very relaxing day today. I tried a few new techniques and I was very happy with how everything turned out. I find myself saying 'I'd like to show this to my friends at the next party' and then I remember that I am not a demonstrator any longer. It is a bit of an adjustment. I am hoping to join Stampin' Up! again as a demo in a few months once my Physical Therapy becomes less taxing. I have decided to dedicate more time to stamping. My Etsy shop where I sell handmade Stampin' Up Cards is operational again.
On this shop I will be selling retired Stamp sets and SU! gear that I haven't used. (I'm selling it cheap, but shh! ) :P
I know that I haven't been blogging very often. I'm sorry! I had a back injury that has caused me to drop Stampin' Up! I am now recovering... and stamping again. I wanted to share this very neat trick I learned on another blog- blog.lovenstamps
